The DeMott family made a special trip to New Jersey this year for our annual Jersey walk. However, instead of having a ceremonial walk or 5K, we decided to host a fun day in Van Saun Park in Paramus where family and friends could gather, catch up, and spend the afternoon together. We had a great day as over 100 people came to spend the day with us and learn more about the foundation and how we are working to share our message across the country.
We want to thank Debbie Winters, Nicole Gonzalo, Darryl DeMott and their families for putting months of hard work and dedication into making this day absolutely amazing! We would also like to thank Josh from Outback Steakhouse in Rochelle Park for proving us with all of the amazing food, as well as The Fireplace, Paramus Police Department, and Generations Comfort Food and Catering in Rochelle Park for supporting this event.
This day has meant so much to us because it was our family’s way of personally saying THANK YOU to everyone that has supported our family and this foundation over the last 4 years. Check out the photos below! Thank you to everyone that came out and made this day so special! We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!
We hosted our annual 5K at Sandpoint Park again this year to raise awareness about the dangers of drunk, impaired , and distracted driving. We were able to share our message of awareness with the community just in time for the Cinco de Mayo celebrations that were taking place that weekend. We had over 100 people from across central Florida come out to walk and run the A. Max Brewer Bridge in Titusville to support the Keri Anne DeMott Foundation and our partners in the Titusville Police Department and the Titusville Police Youth Foundation. This year's event was officially timed, which attracted many runners, and we were albe to give out medals to the top 3 times in each age category. It was great to see so many people participate!
As a special surprise, Make Male of the Seminole County Fire Department, and his daughter McKenzie walked the entire 5K in full fireman's gear! It was definitely inspirational to watch them complete the course in the blazing Florida sun, and they definitely made an impact on everyone that attended. Before the race began, the Male's also presented the DeMott family with a beautiful customized fireman's helmet, complete with starfish paintings and a custom leather badge that says "Making a Difference." See the pictures below for all of the excitement of the day! We can't wait to see everyonw again at next year's 5K!
During our second trip back to Alabama, we addressed the students of Mars Hill Bible School and Brooks High School, with a total of 1,000 students in attendance between both presentations. Our President Bill made this video to commemorate his time in North Alabama. We were truly inspired by this trip, and our motivation to continue to bring the #NoMoreEmptySeats Tour across the country has only strengthened. Thank you to Wade Woods and all of our Alabama sponsors for making this trip possible!
We kicked off 2019 with our biggest event of the year- our 3rd Annual Dinner Banquet! We had 200 people join us in the Pegasus Ballroom on the UCF campus to honor some incredible individuals and celebrate all that we have accomplished in the last year. This year's dinner was truly special as we welcomed back Trooper Steve Montiero from WKMG News 6 as our evening's MC, and shared some exciting news with our audience as we announced the launch of our new victim services program! Our guests also got to see a surprise presentation from our President and founder, Bill. It was an unforgettable evening that we hope left everyone feeling inspired, recharged, and motivated to #ChangeTheWorld. Thank you to everyone that spent the evening with us; we can't wait to see you all again next year!
We would like to thank all of our wonderful volunteers for their time and efforts in helping make this evening such a phenomenal success! We would also like to thank our wonderful photographers Sherri Claudio and Rebecca Cleary for capturing such amazing photos throughout the evening!
